Message from the Founder – Happy 10th Founder’s Day

I am so grateful to have had Ms. Jane Lee Britton for a mother. So, as I celebrate Founder’s Day today, I also celebrate her life. While my mother was on this side of life she showed me what unwavering faith in Christ looked like. She was a living example of faith, and because of her I know God, and I’m grateful for that. To know my mother was to know love, faith, kindness, strength, and determination. She was always joyful, always willing to help neighbors, and always had a joke or funny story to tell. Even during the toughest times, and what seemed to me like the most difficult parts of her recovery from drug and domestic abuse, she never complained, instead she remained faithful. She reminded me that, “God had a plan,” even if I didn’t understand it.

I’m grateful to have witnessed both the trials and victories in my mother’s recovery. The worst moments showed me what determination and strength looked like, which made celebrating the victories that much better. In honor of my mother, I founded Jane’s House of Inspiration (JHOFI), to help other women recover from substance abuse and domestic violence, and today we’re celebrating 10 years of service. I am thankful for the team at JHOFI for their dedication over the past 10 years, because without them, I am sure that JHOFI would be merely a dream instead of reality. I am looking forward to the decade to come, and the recovery victories to be won!

Happy Founder’s Day!

Happy 10th Founder’s Day!

JHOFI celebrates 10 years of helping women, families, and communities recover from and address problems related to substance abuse and domestic violence. Dr. Qiana Brown, the daughter of the late Ms. Jane Lee Britton, founded Jane’s House of Inspiration (JHOFI) in 2006. Inspired by her mother’s life – to include her mother’s struggles and hard won victories of recovery from drug and domestic abuse – Dr. Brown set this organization in place to help others win the battle against substance abuse and domestic violence.

Beginning with a single phone line for women to call for substance abuse treatment referrals, Dr. Brown, with the support of her Board of Directors and stakeholders, grew JHOFI to a multi-state organization that offers substance abuse counseling, social services, medical care, and community advocacy services free of charge. The team at JHOFI is excited about the stories of recovery that this year and the next 10 years will bring!

Happy Founder’s Day!
