Partnership Anniversary: JHOFI and the Medicine-Pediatrics Urban Health Residency Program

Jane’s House of Inspiration (JHOFI) is celebrating its one-year partnership anniversary with the Internal Medicine-Pediatrics Urban Health Residency Program at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. This partnership allowed JHOFI to train medical residents in urban health and offer free medical care to our community. During their women’s health rotation, residents went beyond the walls of the building and into the community to address barriers to care that vulnerable inner-city populations face. JHOFI and the community we serve look forward to the longevity of this partnership and sustained healthy living. Happy Anniversary!

Qiana Brown, JHOFI’s founder, will use a life-story perspective to elucidate her work with vulnerable populations, as well as describe practical strategies that can be used when working with underserved groups. Qiana’s expertise in research, social work, substance use disorders, mental health, and growing up in the inner-city neighborhoods of North Philadelphia contribute to her unique perspective on addressing health disparities.
